Album Review: Borneo - Alert!

Tongue-in-cheek tone and clever lyrics make listening to Alert! a pleasurable experience; but the songs' lack of a strong hook means an enjoyable first listen might also be the last.

Borneo have managed to pack a lot of danceable rock energy into their debut four-track EP. It's undeniably fun, but after a listen the impression is clear that Alert! would be immensely more enjoyable shared in the atmosphere of a live performance.

Also, is it just us or does Hold Me In The River sounds startlingly similar to Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival?
