"What Banoffee's performance lacked in length, it made up for in substance."

More Banoffee More Banoffee

Hiding from the rain and getting cosy at Babushka was the place to be on Friday night as Melbourne's Banoffee performed the WA leg of her I’m Not Sorry tour.

The intimate gig began with Perth local Kopano, whose glitchy pop tunes set the mood for what was to come.

Banoffee came on stage with little fuss, her aesthetic blending laid back yet detailed '80s and '90s futuristic styles - a reflection of her music it would appear. After a few minor technical issues, Banoffee got the crowd shaking and swaying to her melodic RnB laced tracks. She effortlessly utilised the synths and blended beats while singing smooth melodies.

Songs Ninja and With Her brought dreamy electro pop into the bar whilst Let’s Go To The Beach provoked dancey fun with a more upbeat tempo. What Banoffee's performance lacked in length, it made up for in substance, oozing cool and pulling the audience into the atmospheric production.
