Album Review: Bahamas - Bahamas Is Afie

This is a beautiful and clean record with a lot of heart.

The title says it all – the man behind the moniker Bahamas is Afie Jurvanen and his third album is a triumph in style and execution.

The songwriting moves between folk and pop, and it is perfectly produced with taste and variation to give those well-worn paths a delightful character and individuality. The guitar particularly feels like an extension of Jurvanen, from the surprising solo in Bitter Memories, the effortless charm of All The Time to the layered melancholy on closer All I’ve Ever Known. This is a beautiful and clean record with a lot of heart.
