Moruya-born, now Sydney/Eora-based singer-songwriter Yen Strange has released her new single Easy Way Out.

Yen caught the attention of audiences early on with her debut single Donnie Darko, which was followed by Go Away, as well as a cover of Mallrat's Intro.

Her latest effort, Easy Way Out, was produced by songwriter and artist extraordinaire Alice Ivy, and blends together hip hop and punk influences to create a deeply honest, yet hooky indie anthem.

Yen Strange describes the track's sentiment over moving forward through a toxic relationship. She states, "Easy Way Out is about a time I told someone I wanted to be with them and they asked me to just wait. Almost exactly a year on it became clear to me that everything he said was more of an act to try and distract himself from the reality of his own misery.

"I was an easy fix to his depression, a temporary drug that he used and abused until I just wasn’t cheap enough anymore.

"It was a pretty sad time and I remember sitting on my bed making this song on my laptop and thinking all I wanted to do was see him, I didn’t care that he perceived me in this way I thought things would get better if I tried harder."
