Sorry, Australian Miley Cyrus fans: it looks like the Flowers hitmaker won’t be bringing her Endless Summer Vacation down under anytime soon.

In a new interview with British Vogue, the music chameleon revealed that she doesn’t like touring and finds it “isolating”.

“It’s been a minute,” Cyrus admitted about her years-long absence from touring. Her last arena tour took place in 2014, promoting Bangerz. “I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t. Not only ‘can’t,’ because ‘can’t’ is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

She continued, “Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love.” In fact, Cyrus much prefers performing for her family and friends in intimate settings. She explained, “There’s no connection. There’s no safety… It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”

In that same interview (republished by The Sun), Cyrus acknowledged the “guilt and shame” she was made to feel for following a racy path during the Bangerz era and reflected, “Now I’m an adult, I realise how harshly I was judged.”

In the years since she cleaned up her image, Cyrus has embraced sobriety and now considers herself “evolved” from her past self. She released her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, back in March via Columbia.

It debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts. Flowers, a UK #1, was also #1 on the Radio Monitor Chart for 16 weeks. Flowers was her first #1 single in Australia.

Cyrus has six #1 albums, including her 2013 GRAMMY-nominated album Bangerz, which is also certified 3x platinum in the US. In addition, she has had an impressive five sold-out world tours throughout her career.

In November 2020, Miley dropped her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts. The critically acclaimed album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and is her sixth #1 album, giving Cyrus the most top 10 album debuts on the chart for female artists this century.
