Under the banner Freo’s Blues Roots & Beyond

After 12 years under the banner West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots, the much-loved festival is taking a year off to prepare for a rebranded event under the name Freo’s Blues Roots & Beyond, which will setup shop in 2017.

The new title reflects the festival’s connection to the culturally rich location in which it occupies, and April 2017 will see pass outs introduced so punters can explore, experience and enjoy the festival’s surrounding suburbs.

Few other details have been revealed, but they’ve promised a new venue to accompany the change, which will see it shift from Fremantle Park.

Since its inception in 2003 as a Kings Park event, the festival has expanded the scope and variety on its bill each year, scoring massive headline acts such as Paul Simon, Iggy & The Stooges, Bob Dylan and more.
