"As soon as we opened it and saw that it was real, we had to make it the star of the video."

Sydney electro-prog merchants MCP have shared their new video for The Nothing - a trippy, CGI visual chronicling a musical battle for the ages.

Created by writer-producer team Arron Millikin and Wesley von Grabill, a huge part of the video was never a part of the original plan.

"The jam jar filled with bush weed and a sign stuck to the top saying 'Free Weed' wasn’t actually a prop..." Millikin explained.

"Wes and I found that on the ground behind the IGA in Newtown one day walking to Sushi Wow. As soon as we opened it... we had to make it the star of the video."

MCP band member James McKenna recalls of the event, “As soon as we saw the jar, and released what it was, we imminently started thinking how the hell we can turn this into a music video, about a month later Arron moulded the ideas into an animation and the end result is the video for The Nothing.”
