This year there's a little something for everyone.

The Victorian Opera Program 2013 has been announced with a selection of shows sure to please both new and old fans to the opera scene.

In the program's eighth season, event-goers can expect a number of Australian premiere shows including John Adam's Nixon In China, which Variety magazine called a “masterpiece”.  Fans will also get the chance to see a new production of Stephen Sondheim's classic Sunday In The Park With George.

Families have a wide range of shows to choose from with a production of the Aussie children's classic The Magic Pudding – The Opera. Parents can also take their children along to a showing of Sleeping Beauty and the Shrek movies very own scene stealer Puss In Boots.

2013 marks the first year that new Artistic Director Richard Mills is at the helm and he is hoping to spread the opera gospel to a broader audience.
