Vera Blue’s second album, Mercurial, released last October, is getting the vinyl treatment. Standard and deluxe editions of the album are available to pre-order now for a release date of Friday, 12 May.

A limited edition 2LP white deluxe version is available to pre-order on Vera Blue’s Official Store, and a 1LP yellow standard edition is available to pre-order at retailers.

The deluxe edition of Mercurial arrives with two new songs, One Condition and Take Your Time, recorded alongside Blue’s longtime collaborators, Andy and Thom Mak.

She said about the vinyl release in a statement, "I am so thrilled to finally be able to share the Deluxe Vinyl of Mercurial with you all! We always intended the Mercurial story to be expanded upon with these final two songs to complete the picture.

Take Your Time is a song about nurturing and caring for others or being looked after and loved. The big and warm analogue feel was a mood that felt perfect for vinyl. One Condition is a track about empowerment and finding your own voice. We had so much fun creating this track, and it really captures contrasting, upbeat energy.”

She continued, “Including both Take Your Time, and One Condition on the expanded vinyl edition was a no-brainer for us. They are both very different songs, but they showcase different sides of my artistry and what I can do as a songwriter and performer. Mercurial feels complete and perfect to us now. I hope you enjoy these songs and the rest of the expanded Mercurial story in larger-than-life vinyl format as much as we enjoyed creating it.“

"I had just turned 26 when I wrote that and went through mental health and relationship challenges," Blue told The Music in a cover story interview. Writing Mercurial turned into a form of therapy where Blue could acknowledge that she was pushing her mental health to the side when she needed to confront and nurse her exhausted mind.

"At the beginning, I was like, I don't want to fucking do this. I was asking myself, is there something wrong with me? I just had to learn about it. Then you start connecting with people on the same boat, and it becomes something you're not dealing with alone, which I think is amazing."
