Milku (NSW)

Diamonds xx

Milku is one of the hottest new artists right now, and in this new single, it's pretty clear to see why. Diamonds xx was inspired by the self-destructive but sparkly moments in your twenties when nothing feels right, but you're still having the best time. Following along sonically with his first release, Alone, Diamonds xx is a step up and features some more throughout songwriting decisions that really make the song shine. Paired with unique and funky pop beats and a truly unbeatable vocal take that's full of surprises, Milku definitely has a full-blown hit on his hands.

YARA (VIC)

Back Of The Uber

YARA hits hard with her first-ever single, Back of The Uber, a gorgeous soul-love ballad that gives you all the feelsYARA's vocals in the songs shine like no other, and she offers something special and addictive that makes you want to listen to the song over and over again. Sweeping chorus and quiet verses take you through all of YARA's back-and-forth heartbreak, and her warm tones make it feel like you're hearing a friend's woes. There is a nostalgia and old-timey feel that takes you straight back to the soul hits of the 90s when ballads were more adored. It's something that modern music has been calling out for, and YARA is delivering.

Reckless Coast (QLD)

Gossip

Reckless Coast have been bringing the tunes for the last couple of years, and their newest hit, Gossip, is no different. Fully leaning into their speed rock era, this new track brings back the best parts of the 70s and 80s with heavy drums, thrilling guitar riffs and some stellar vocals from Jaeden Ogston. Gossip follows in the style of the trio's previous singles but amps up the heat with more creative and playful lyrics that show off the band's fun side. Can't wait to headbang along to this track wherever they play next.

Have A Good Day (WA)

Somebody, Nobody

Another brand-new artist hits the scene this week with Have A Good Day releasing their debut, Somebody, Nobody. Filled with big vocals, dreamy pop synths and danceable beats, Have A Good Day have delivered a debut that most pop artists would be jealous of. It's easy to see the natural chemistry between the two members, James MacCallum and Luke Minness, as they effortlessly dance around indie-pop cliches and deliver new and exciting sounds.

Druid Fluids (SA)

Into Me I See

Druid Fluids have dropped their first music for 2023 in the form of Into Me I See - a funky track that embodies the 70's experimental spirit. Dropping a few songs here and there over the past few years, Druid Fluids are stepping up their game with this one, incorporating big organs, dreamy vocals and fuzzed-out guitars to create the ultimate five-minute listening experience. A cross between King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard and The Beatles when they were in the Revolver era - these boys are bringing 70s experimental rock music back in a big way.
