Underground Playlists are back and better than ever, thanks to the legends at Mountain Goat Beer. In fact, we’ve decided to pick out our favourite tracks each week and share them with you, so you can get to know the best of the bunch and keep your finger on the pulse. Here are this week's top picks for our Underground Playlists...

More Sesame Girl More Sesame Girl

DIAL (QLD

Ego

DIAL have only released a few singles, but the music their producing would suggest years of grinding away, perfecting their craft. Especially in their newest single, Ego somehow finds the perfect balance between the 70’s psychedelic craze of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Aus dad rock. Fuzzed-out guitars, sultry vocals, and symbol-heavy drums give this new track such an exciting feel. It exists as both a song that you could play driving around town, running errands and a song that would take the party to the next level.

Sesame Girl (NSW)

BOYS

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

Sesame Girl is bringing the sweet, sweet heat with their newest single, BOYS, which will transport you right back to the 2000s with its pop/rock sensibilities. Grungy guitars and steady drums lay the bed for Heather Duncan’s dream pop-inspired vocals. Canberra-based, the band have been steadily gaining traction along the east coast, supporting the likes of DZ Deathrays,  Spacey Jane and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers while also smashing out their own tours, serving up a steady platter of 2000s sounds for their hungry fans.

Dann Dib, Max Glyde, LEF. (VIC)

Sweet Catch

Talented VIC native Dann Dib has released his album Dumb Ideas & Bad Behaviour, and one of the singles Sweet Catch is too good not to include. Recruiting the help of Max Glyde and LEF., Sweet Catch hits all the groove points in the most perfect way. Bright keys, funky beats, and Mac Miller-inspired lyrics make this song almost addictive. LEF. also adds in some beautiful verses that showcase the silky smooth nature of his voice.

youproblem (NSW)

Ribcage

Our favourites youproblem are back with another banger, Ribcage, which will have you dancing through the night. Usually sticking to a more positive-pop sound, Ribcage delves into a darker side of the duo, with grating bass and heavy drum beats pushing the song forward while also tapping into elements of that 2000s sound that has become so popular. Vocalist Alana Patmore is a highlight on this track, pumping emotions into the song with one single electronic punch. Can’t wait to see what they do next.

STELLAR (SA)

Washing Machine

STELLAR have released their second single in the form of Washing Machine, a grungy beach rock number that will have you jumping around and screaming the lyrics in no time. Following in the footsteps of Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Ruby Fields and Amyl and the Sniffers, these girls are a force to be reckoned with their whiplash lyrics, creative songwriting and enigmatic live shows.
