More Turnstile More Turnstile

Turnstile are killing it at the moment.

The beloved Baltimore hardcore band released their genre-defying opus Glow On last year to massive critical acclaim and a spot of #82 on the ARIA Charts - not too shabby for a non-mainstream act.

Australian Guitar Magazine's Ellie Robinson dubbed the album "a true masterclass in the art of heavy music" before adding, "the sheer depth and dynamism of its musicality cannot be understated, nor Turnstile's passion in sculpting it."

The band is now selling out a 3,950-capacity Mission Ballroom in Denver and submitting their music for Grammy consideration.

So, it only makes sense that Turnstile are on their way to becoming a household name and earning that sweet sync money. Taco Bell's newest commercial, Friends Car - Nacho Fries, features the Glow On track, Holiday, and played during the Monday Night Football ad break, bringing hardcore and fast food to your living room.

In the commercial, one friend says to another, "We can't wait forever", when another mate quickly leaves the car. The friends subsequently pull up at a Taco Bell drive-thru and other a great-looking batch of nacho fries. The disgruntled friend sees the car pull up, to which the driver says, "you can't be mad", and the passenger hands over the nacho fries with Turnstile's Holiday blaring in the car.

Turnstile were chosen as members of the Class Of 2015 for the Feed The Beat program.

Tim Bergevin, Taco Bell's vice president of influencer and community marketing, revealed that music is an important part of the company's identity; he said about the commercial, "Music has long been a part of the Taco Bell DNA. Highlighting bands like Turnstile is a great representation of our Feed The Beat program that helps support and amplify culture's leading artists. Not only does Turnstile kick-off the return of Nacho Fries, they represent the bright future for what we envision will be bigger platforms and even more opportunities for Feed The Beat artists and alumni in 2023."

Lon Landman, the managing partner and CEO of The Syndicate, also shared that Taco Bell nurtures musical talents. "Supporting artists of all genres has been of the utmost importance to Taco Bell through the Feed The Beat program since its inception. We're so excited to highlight an artist like Turnstile who is creating such a unique sonic landscape. When you hear the riff in Holiday, it immediately grabs your attention."

Turnstile are one of the favourites who will perform at Laneway Festival 2023. While they are the hardest band on the line-up, rock music fans can be reassured by the appearances of post-punks Fontaines D.C. and Yard Act.
