Aussie metal legends Thy Art Is Murder have announced a far-reaching regional tour, with Justice For The Damned and To The Grave joining them as the three bands collectively take a wrecking ball to the regions.

The carnage starts in mid-May, with extreme metal and deathcore hitting Gosford, Newcastle, Canberra, Albury, Wollongong, Ipswich, Coolangatta, Caloundra, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Ballarat, Geelong, Chelsea Heights, and Sandy Bay. Regrettably, To The Grave won’t appear on a few dates - find more details below.

Over the weekend, Thy Art Is Murder put out Until There Is No Longer, the first release from the 6-song mini album, The Aggression Sessions, out on 7 April on digital formats, with CD and vinyl released on 21 July. Pre-order the album here.

The Aggression Sessions is a split for lovers of extreme metal, with the record featuring a three-way split with their mates Fit For An Autopsy and Malevolence.

Until There Is No Longer is the first taste of new music from Thy Art Is Murder since 2020’s Killing Season. As the press release promises, "it should really whet your appetite for Thy Art’s sixth album, set to pulverise skulls in the coming months."

A few weeks ago, Thy Art Is Murder vocalist CJ McMahon revealed that he was after a bigger, better boat and wanted to trade some valuables with fans.

McMahon was advertising two items: a Cristiano Ronaldo Kaboom PSA 10 (soccer card) with a value of around $2-$2.5k AUD.

What had the comments section on Instagram fired up, however, was the Thy Art Is Murder test press of Holy War, numbered four out of five.

Holy War is the third Thy Art Is Murder album, released in 2015 via UNFD and Nuclear Blast. The album was produced and mixed by END’s Will Putney

The record has a strong focus on the subjects of child abuse, animal rights, religion, politics, and war and contains a feature from Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall on the most metal track of 2015, Coffin Dragger. Holy War peaked at #7 in Australia and #3 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums.

Upon the release of Holy War, we said it was an album “so heavy that your ears will burst like cane toads under an 18-wheeler.”

Want to hear music so heavy your ears will burst this May and June? Check out Thy Art Is Murder’s tour dates below. Find tickets via the band’s website at 9 am AEDT this Friday, 31 March. Interested in pre-sale tickets? You can find them here tomorrow at 9 am AEDT.
