Are you ready to sing along to Blinding Lights, Take My Breath, Starboy, Can’t Feel My Face, Creepin’ (by Metro Boomin), and a couple of tracks from Kiss Land and the Trilogy release? It’s finally Australia’s turn to experience The Weeknd live in concert for the first time in six years.

This November and December, The Weeknd will visit Australia and New Zealand for his After Hours Til Dawn Tour.

Beginning his run on Monday, 20 November, at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, the artist known as The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) heads to Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Friday, 24 November, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Friday, 1 December, and ends at Auckland’s Eden Park on Thursday, 7 December.

Tickets to the general public will be available via the Live Nation website on Friday, 1 September. Melbourne punters can access tickets from 10 am, Brisbane from 11 am, and Sydney from noon.

However, pre-sale is also an option, with Vodafone hosting the first round of pre-sales on Friday, 25 August, at the same times. You can go here to access your tickets. Next is the pre-sale for Foxtel Rewards customers, who can access early tickets here on Friday, 1 September, from 10 am AEST.

The After Hours Til Dawn Tour, if you guessed it, celebrates The Weeknd’s latest two albums, 2020’s After Hours and his January 2022 release, Dawn FM. So far on this tour, The Weeknd has broken attendance records in London and Milan, selling hundreds of thousands of tickets all across Europe.

The tour announcement arrives three months after Tesfaye revealed that he’d no longer make music as The Weeknd. “The visuals are vital to my career,” he told W Magazine in May before admitting, “The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd.

“This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.” You can read the full interview here.

In January, The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights was named as Spotify’s most-streamed song of all time, overtaking Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You.

Upon his last visit to Australia in December 2017, The Music reviewer Madelyn Tait commented that “The Weeknd proved himself as a phenomenal live act with an extensive discography of hits” at his Qudos Bank Arena show. It’s been too long since The Weeknd touched down on our shores, but now we have even more hits to witness.
