Due to high demand, The Smashing Pumpkins have added extra dates to the first-ever Australian edition of The World Is A Vampire Festival in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

In case you missed it, the 1979 group will take the festival across ten national cities and boasts a line-up featuring Jane's Addiction and Aussie heroes Amyl And The Sniffers, RedHook, Battlesnake and local acts to be added to each show.

Each festival date will also feature professional wrestling matches between vocalist Billy Corgan's NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and the WAOA (Wrestling Alliance Of Australia).

While the tour originally began on Sunday, 16 April, in Bribie Island, QLD, the demand in Brisbane has led to a Saturday, 15 April, outdoor event at the Eatons Hill Hotel.

In Sydney, a second and final show has been added at the Hordern Pavilion, while the performances slated to take place in Wollongong and Penrith have been cancelled due to circumstances outside of the promoters’ control.

Ticketholders to those shows are eligible to transfer to the 19 April Hordern Pavilion concert - transfer and refund options will be available and explained in an email. Because of the second show in Sydney, the Newcastle gig has moved to 29 April - all existing tickets are valid for the new date.

In Victoria, the event that would’ve been held at Hastings Foreshore has been moved. Ticketholders will be eligible to attend the shows at the Port Melbourne or Ballarat locations. Due to conflicts with insurance and the local council, the event can't go ahead in Hastings.

Check out the new, updated tour dates below.
