Yesterday (21 March), the first leg of Knotfest went ahead at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse.

Co-headlined by Pantera and Disturbed, the line-up also stars international heavy hitters Lamb Of God, Halestorm, Skindred, Asking Alexandria, Wage War, Brand Of Sacrifice, The Hu, and Escape The Fate. Australian acts on the line-up include mainstays Thy Art Is Murder and King Parrot, as well as buzzy up-and-comers SPEED and Windwaker.

Knotfest 2024 marks a series of monumental returns to Australia, including groove metal pioneers Pantera’s first stops down under since 2001 (touring Reinventing The Steel) and the first Australian shows in eight years for Disturbed and influential new wave of American heavy metal group Lamb Of God.

Like last year’s festival, this year’s Knotfest Australia is clash-free, with all the bands performing on two adjacent stages. The next dates are Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday, 23 March, and Brisbane’s Showgrounds on Sunday, 24 March.

As well as the festival itself, a number of acts hosted sideshows, including Pantera, Disturbed (both exclusively in Adelaide), Lamb Of God, Halestorm, The Hu, and Asking Alexandria and Wage War co-headlining some concerts.

Below, we’ve compiled some of the highlights from across social media, immortalising the second edition of Knotfest Australia in Melbourne… including a marriage proposal.
