Just one day before they were due to kick off their Australian tour, New Zealand band The Phoenix Foundation have today announced the cancellation of their national shows.

In a prepared statement, the group cited family health reasons as the catalyst for pulling out of the tour at such late notice.

See the full statement below.

"It is with great regret that we must pull out of this weeks’ Australian tour due to family health reasons. It is an absolute bummer but the right thing to do in this situation. We love you OZ and we will be back as soon as possible! Our UK and Europe shows will go ahead as planned. We are really sorry for the terrible inconvenience. Sometimes life intervenes.

Much love The Phoenix Foundation - Sam, Luke, Conrad, Will, Chris and Tom".
