All the winners announced.

Vivid Ideas held its inaugural Clipped Music Video Competition over the weekend which has seen Sydney favourites The Jezabels and Rufus pick up awards alongside other big names.

Held at The Works in Glebe, renowned music video directors Nigel Dick (Elton John, Green Day) and David Wilson (Lady Gaga, Tame Impala) judged the competition with bar staff for the event as The Jezabels were the only act to score two gongs.

"Music video is an underappreciated art form these days," festival director Sam Bright said.

"Most people don’t have time or the opportunity to collectively celebrate the art and technique of the ‘clip’ in the same room together these days. That’s why it’s fantastic to finally provide a new avenue for work to be discovered in Australia.

"It’s clear that music videos influence almost every aspect of modern society – from what we choose to wear, to current trends in creative advertising and branding, even informing our political decisions. Nearly all new advances in the science, art and technical wizardry that we see in today’s feature films and television show at least have some traces of early experimentation or incarnation in the music video arena."
