The Front Bottoms Detail 2024 Australian Tour

The Front Bottoms have announced their hotly awaited comeback to Australian stages, revealing a five-date run of theatre shows for this April.

They’ll kick things off in Sydney (Eora) on Friday April 12 – when they take to the stage at the UNSW Roundhouse – before heading up to Brisbane (Meanjin) for a show at the Princess Theatre on Sunday April 14. Melbourne (Naarm) are up next on the itinerary, with a show at the Northcote Theatre scheduled for Tuesday April 16, followed by a date at The Gov in Adelaide (Kaurna) on Friday April 19. And the following night (April 20), the band will wrap things up at The Rechabite in Perth (Boorloo).

It marks The Front Bottoms’ first Australian tour since January 2017, when they toured in support in support of their third album, 2015’s Back On Top. They’ve since released a further three LPs: Going Grey later in 2017, In Sickness & In Flames in 2020, and You Are Who You Hang Out With (which this tour comes in support of) last year.

Tickets for these shows go on sale at 10am local time this Thursday (January 18), following two pre-sales: one for The Front Bottoms’ own fan club, starting at 11am local time today (January 16), and one for members of Handsome Tours’ mailing list, starting at 10am local time tomorrow (January 17). In a review of the band’s Adelaide show in 2017, Will Oakeshott gushed that The Front Bottoms “transformed the venue into a crowded trampoline, which shook the entire building”.
