The veteran Aussie outfits hit the road for a run of joint shows throughout August, September and December

More Taxiride More Taxiride

Long-serving local bands The Badloves and Taxiride are joining forces for a run of co-headline shows this and next month, as well as in December, it has been announced.

More than a decade since either band last released an album — The Badloves' most recent full-length is 2004's The Definitive Collection, while Taxiride's third LP Axiomatic made its debut in 2005 — the pair of acts are shaking off the rust to air their laundry list of hits on stages along the south and east of the country throughout the rest of the year.

Impressively, two of the four Badloves members playing on this tour are founders — frontman Michael Spiby and returned bassist Stephen 'Irish' O'Prey, along with more recent additions Tony Featherstone (Hammond) and Jeff Consi (drums) — while Taxiride boasts its entire original line-up, comprising Jason SinghTim Wild, Tim Watson and Dan Hall. Both Watson and Hall left Taxiride during its initial run (Hall departed in 2001, returning in 2006, while Watson left in 2003), but are back on board to commemorate the band's distinguished career when they hit the road with The Badloves from later this month.

The joint tour kicks off in Melbourne, at The Palms Crown, on Friday 19 August, hitting The Gov, in Adelaide, the next evening. The bands have four dates lined up together in September — at Twin Towns, Gold Coast; Rooty Hill RSL and the Gymea Hotel, both in Sydney; and Newcastle's Wests New Lambton; and two shows in December, taking in Launceston's Country Club and Hobart's Wrest Point Showroom, where they wrap the sojourn on Saturday 10 December.
