The Amity Affliction Planning 10-Year Anniversary 'Let The Ocean Take Me' Vinyl

The Amity Affliction co-vocalists Joel Birch and Ahren Stringer joined fans on the Metalcore corner of Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) today (9 August) and provided some great answers for fans.

Responding to the question, “Is there a song that you guys hate playing live?” asked by Reddit user Aggressively Spooky, both Birch and Stringer replied. Displaying a united front, Stringer said he hates playing the band’s 2012 single, Open Letter, while Birch wrote, “Hate playing everything off Youngbloods and Chasing Ghosts lol”.

When asked about their intentions behind the musical heaviness of their latest album, Not Without My Ghosts, Stringer admitted that he and his bandmates “just wanted to go heavier” – fair enough. Stringer also revealed that some of his favourite acts are incredibly diverse, from $uicideboy$ to Taylor Swift to James Taylor to Death Cab For Cutie.

However, the most exciting answers of the AMA related to the upcoming tenth anniversary of Let The Ocean Take Me, released in June 2014.

Inspired by Birch’s social media handles, a Reddit user named jazdtd asked, “will you be doing a tour or vinyl repressings for LTOTM 10 year anniversary?” to which Birch replied, “I certainly hope so.”

Another user had a similar question, with legendofmidna asking, “Any plans to issue a vinyl repress of Let The Ocean Take Me for its 10 year anniversary next year?” Stringer answered, “The odds are high!”
