Albany, New York, deathcore outfit The Acacia Strain have postponed their Australian tour to January 2024. The tour was rapidly approaching, due to take place this September, and has been rescheduled after long-time drummer Kevin Boutot recently left the band.

The personnel change has forced the band to reschedule, but the good news for heavy music fans is that Dying Wish (Portland, Oregon) and local legends Volatile Ways will still open all shows, aside from Perth, where the latter won’t appear.

“As many of you are likely already aware, our recent Canadian tour was the last tour for our long-time friend and drummer, Kevin Boutot,” The Acacia Strain wrote in an Instagram statement.

They continued, “We wish him and his family well and thank him for his many years with the band. The unexpected change has caused us to need to move this tour around, though. In an effort to make sure that we have a new drummer solidified before we play this Au tour, we have had to move it to January of 2024.”

Kevin Boutot left the band in mid-July. Boutot joined The Acacia Strain in 2005, replacing former drummer Ben Abert and staying ever since. Making an emotional Instagram statement, the drummer revealed that he will continue playing the drums and may join The Acacia Strain on special occasions. As of now, though, his main focus is on his family.

You can find the new Acacia Strain dates below. Due to overwhelming demand, the Melbourne show that would’ve taken place at Stay Gold will now occur at the Prince Bandroom. The Adelaide show, slated for the Enigma Bar, has been upgraded to the Unibar.
