Our progressive metal overlords, TesseracT, are returning to Australia in May 2024. The band’s triumphant voyage down under after six years also comes with a new album – on Friday, 15 September, TesseracT will drop their fifth album, War Of Being, via Kscope.

The English outfit’s upcoming tour begins on Thursday, 2 May, at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre, followed by Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday, 3 May, Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom the next night, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Tuesday, 7 May, with the tour wrapping up at Perth’s Magnet House on Thursday, 9 May.

You can sign up here to access the Early Bird pre-sale, which commences on Tuesday, 18 July, at 9 am local time. General tickets go on sale on Thursday, 20 July, via Destroy All Lines.

War Of Being has been described as a concept album with AI-generated cover art, highlighting the band’s signature intricate song structures and aggression while sharing the gripping story of “Ex and El, two souls stranded in The Strangeland after a catastrophic shipwreck,” a press release states.

The statement continues, “Here, they encounter a mysterious entity known as Fear, sparking a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. As you embark on your own individual journey through the album, prepare to unlock the deepest recesses of your own being.”

TesseracT vocalist Daniel Tompkins said about the band’s new track: “War Of Being is a fight for acceptance, a battle of existence and a resistance against ego.

“It’s a struggle for control as we cut through the white noise of reality. It’s the need to know and identify with oneself, to accept and understand what we stand for and who we are. There is an urgent need to ‘Tear the mask away’ and reveal your true self.”

TesseracT’s new album was recorded at Middle Farm Studios in the United Kingdom with a bunch of legends, including Peter Miles (Architects, Sylosis), who co-produced with the band alongside Katherine Marsh of Choir Noir (Bring Me The Horizon, Marillion).

Randy Slaugh (PeripheryDevin Townsend) assisted with additional programming and production, and Forrester Savell (Karnivool) provided extra engineering.

War Of Being is available to pre-order now in a Deluxe Version, digital, vinyl, CD digipak, Blu-Ray and other formats. Pre-order or pre-save the album here.
