The National, Taylor Swift - The Alcott

The National have today released their highly anticipated album, The First Two Pages Of Frankenstein, with a very special surprise guest in the form of Taylor Swift featuring on one of the album’s singles. The Alcott is a beautiful ballad that describes the story of two people with a long history returning to a place and trying to relive a certain moment in time in a last-ditch effort to connect. Simple but eloquent, the song speaks to the soul, and Swift's harmonies and additions to the song really hammer in this feeling of two people who are still in love reaching out after a long time of no contact.

Diplo, Lily Rose - Sad In The Summer

Diplo has whipped up another banger in the form of Sad In The Summer with new collaborator Lily Rose. This release is one of the first from his new project, Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 - Swamp Savant, where Diplo has gone back to his roots. Sad In The Summer is a true sadbop that mixes country and pop elements to make a truly addictive track. Up-and-coming country star Lily Rose also lends her silky smooth vocals to the song, which is the cherry on top. Country is cool again, and it seems that Diplo is prepared to ride that wave.

KYE - Ribena

It’s clear that KYE is firmly in her pop stardom era with new single, Ribena. Danceable beats, funky bass, and KYE’s seductive vocals lure you in with this one, bringing the vibe that you’ll definitely wanna dance all night long. On the new release, Kye said, “I initially really poured over what I wanted the message of my sophomore EP to be before landing on the idea that I didn’t need to say anything particularly profound. What I wanted was for people to dance and to experience this chapter in my life with me where I am prioritising joy and pleasure.”
