System Of A Down have announced they've raised over $600,000 since releasing new music last week

The heavy metal legends surprised fans when releasing Protect The Land and Genocidal Humanoidz, saying they were motivated by the "recently-erupted conflict in Artsakh and Azerbaijan to release new music to raise awareness & funds to aid the people of Artsakh and Armenia".

All proceeds made from the tracks went towards humanitarian organization, the Armenia Fund.

"We are overwhelmed with gratitude for your incredible support of our campaign for the people of Artsakh, and for helping us raise over $600k in donations to provide for those in dire need via the Armenia Fund," the band said in a statement.

"Because of you, we will be able to help displaced civilians, young and old, who are affected by the hideous war crimes inflicted upon Artsakh by Azerbaijan and Turkey."
