Sydney-based pop-R&B artist Israel Cruz has been released from jail after what is believed to be a 52 day stint.

Posting on social media on the weekend, Cruz said, “I am gonna take this moment to humbly express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone that's been behind me, praying and supporting me throughout the last week weeks while I was in prison.”

Rumours that the artist was behind bars circulated heavily last month, but theMusic.com.au was unable to confirm the news. At the time, previous representatives John Denison of Entourage Management and Andrew Hawkins of King Kyle, Kyle Sandilands' management company, told theMusic.com.au that they were no longer involved with his management.

A top executive from Universal Music Australia, his agent James Deighton and representatives from his label Ministry Of Sound also told theMusic.com.au they knew nothing of the matter.

TheMusic.com.au has made contact with Cruz, who was planning on explaining the saga today, however Cruz claimed his label has now advised him not to speak. Multiple calls to the label have not been returned.

His online posting continued, “Honestly my heart can't thank y'all enough, but I will keep trying to as best I can. I have changed, and I know that the experience has created a new man in me, it has altered me for the better. Thank you friends and fam and fans. God Bless you.”
