More BTS More BTS

BTS will release their long-awaited memoir this July after speculation ran rampant earlier this week, suggesting that an unnamed book belonging to a high-profile star was Taylor Swift.

Flatiron Books, an imprint of Macmillan, officially announced that the K-pop group will unveil Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record Of BTS, ending swirling rumours.

The book was written by journalist Myeongseok Kang and the band – RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jin, SUGA, and Jungkook, Music News reports.

This week, a random book with the placeholder title of 4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023 became a bestseller on Amazon (rising to #2 in the Most Popular section of its book category) and Barnes & Noble’s “Coming Soon” section after Taylor Swift fans formed the theory that the Anti-Hero singer was releasing a book.

That theory stemmed from fandom – the book’s 9 July release date is significant to Swift fans, as she sings on the Speak Now song, Last Kiss, “That July 9th, the beat of your heart”.

More lore pointed towards Swift. According to the minimal information we had about the placeholder book this week, it contains 544 pages and 5 + 4 + 4 = 13, Taylor Swift’s lucky number.

The book was initially supposed to be announced on 13 June – the lucky number – but what Swift fans didn’t know was that 13 June is also the 10th anniversary of BTS’s 2013 debut single, No More Dream.

Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record Of BTS is available to pre-order now, as a hardcover book or audiobook, through Booktopia.

In October, BTS' management confirmed that its members will each serve in the South Korean military as part of their mandatory service. The band had previously been looking for an exemption to allow them to continue their musical career.

A few months before that, the group announced that they would be “going into a hiatus” to pursue solo projects but still “remain active in various different formats.” One of those formats is LEGO.
