Sunnyboys Reveal Their Top Ten Albums Ahead Of A Day On The Green

Ahead of A Day On The Green's rock'n'roll trifecta this March with Hoodoo Gurus, Violent Femmes and Sunnyboys, Peter Oxley and Richard Burgman of Sunnyboys give us a rundown of their top ten records.

A Day On The Green kicks off on 5 March at Bimbadgen Winery before heading to Sirromet Wines on 6 March, Rochford Wines on 12 March and Kings Park on 19 March.

Listen closely. Sounds complicated but it has such sparse instrumentation. Fantastic guitar playing. Sounds like surfing.

Finnish singer songwriter. Black scary lyrics. Beautifully melodic voice. Sparse acoustic guitar.

Ed Kuepper - Lost Cities

The Godfather of Punk. Ed’s new record. Wistful and gentle. Thoughtful lyrics. Atmospheric guitars.

Alister Spence Trio - Far Flung

Melodic jazz. Piano, Double Bass and drums. Experimental sounds and improvisation.

Sunnyboys Live - Best Seat in the House

Deadly live album recorded at The Enmore Theatre. Fantastic set list. Great audience. Killer guitar playing. Wicked rhythm section.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away

One of the best bands in the world. Dark and melodic and humorous. Lovely piano playing.

The Saints - Prehistoric Sounds

Top of the list of favourite albums of all time. What can I say. Killer songs. Horn section. Great lyrics and what a voice.

Lou Reed - Transformer

A classic album. A very favourite song, Perfect Day gives me goosebumps every time. Fantastic bass playing. Produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson.

Amanda Brown - Son of a Lion film Soundtrack

A mob of Sydney based Afghan, Persian and Lebanese musicians playing traditional instruments. Absolutely beautiful.
