Sunk Loto Tease 20th Anniversary Tour

Next week, Sunk Loto will announce a 20th-anniversary tour of the metalcore classic, Between Birth & Death, to the delight of fans across the country.

The beloved band have teased the tour on social media, posting a short video indicating that the announcement of an anniversary tour is imminent, captioning the video, “We have some exciting news dropping for you all next week”.

Between Birth & Death is the Gold Coast band’s second and final album. 

Released in November 2003, the record is perfect for fans of Deftones’ Around The Fur and acts as a precursor to Bullet For My Valentine’s debut album, The Poison.

The album landed at #48 on the ARIA Chart in 2003, with Paul McKercher nominated for an Engineer Of The Year award at the ARIAs in 2004. 

Between Birth & Death sounds like a time capsule for this kind of nu-metal/metalcore music, with that sharp production no longer really existing in 2023 - a shame. Keep an eye out for more news about the tour on Sunk Loto’s social media accounts. 

Last year, Sunk Loto reunited after a 15-year hiatus. Selling out multiple Queensland shows within 24 hours of announcing their return, Sunk Loto swiftly went on to sell out additional 2022 shows, with a second Brisbane date and previously announced shows in Melbourne and Sydney rapidly reaching capacity.

The OG band members, Jason Brown, Dane Brown, Luke McDonald and Sean Van Gennip, performed at all the shows and reconnected with their fans, entertained, had fun and reignited their love of playing music.
