Stephen Cummings has today shared the news of a new album and tour.

The Sports frontman will release his 20th solo album, Prisoner Of Love, on 22 February, marking his first new album in five years.

"Long ago, I worked out I was good at dealing with the perpetual confusion between the sexes, and I haven’t strayed too far from this," says Cummings of the album's name. "Basically, for every step forward there is a step backwards, and sideways too."

This is the first release for Cummings since teaming up with the Mushroom Group imprint label, Bloodlines, which sees him work once again with Michael Gudinski.

"There is something to be said for local expertise," says Cummings. "My recording career began with Mushroom and Michael, and in these mystifying times, the Bloodlines label (Mushroom) and Michael seems like the right place to be. I am rapt to have all my songs and recordings in the one place."
