Stars Of Camp Gallipoli Tell Us Why It's Important To Keep The ANZAC Spirit Alive

With ANZAC Day just around the corner and a long weekend upon us, it's easy for some to forget what the day is about and instead get caught up in having a Monday sleep-in.

 

As this year's Camp Gallipoli descends around the country this ANZAC Day Eve, we got the stars of the not-for-profit project — Dami Im, Cyrus, Taylor Henderson, Stan Walker and Louise Adams — to give us their top reasons on why you should head down to keep the ANZAC spirit alive. 

 

Attendees can sleep under the stars at Adelaide Event & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane Showgrounds, Melbourne Showgrounds, Sydney's Entertainment Quarter and Perth's Ascot Racecourse from 3pm on Sunday in order to wake up for the dawn service on Monday.

1. I feel so blessed to call Australia my home and since living here, I have learned how important ANZAC Day is.

2. I will be performing songs from my new album Classic Carpenters to commemorate the event, come along and join me, and thousands of young Australians at Camp Gallipoli Brisbane! 

1. As an Australian-born Kiwi, I am proud to be a part of this unique experience to remember what ANZAC is really about, and I hope young Australians join in to make this event even more special.

2. I love music because it brings people from all walks of life together, and I can’t wait to perform for all the Perth campers - help us keep the ANZAC spirit alive at Camp Gallipoli!

1. No matter what your background is, it's important to remember the meaning behind ANZAC day. As a young Australian, I want to support the event the best way I know how, and give a special live performance on the eve of ANZAC day! 

2. To all the Sydneysiders, come on down with your swags and sleeping bags, and get ready for a night you won’t forget!

1. Each year I go to the dawn service with my parents, so remembering and keeping the ANZAC spirit alive is a big traditional part of my life, which I hope will become a special tradition for other young Australians too.

2. The best way we can honor those young soldiers who fought for Australia, is not to forget. I look forward to performing in my hometown at Camp Gallipoli Adelaide, and can’t wait to see you there!

1. Australia is a country of opportunity, and without the courage and sacrifices made from our young men who went to WW1 for our country - we wouldn’t have these incredible opportunities today. Coming from country Victoria, ANZAC day holds meaning to me, and I’m so happy to show my support through music and through song, on this special evening at Camp Gallipoli in Melbourne.

2. Melburnians head down with your friends, partners and family, and spend an evening camping out under the stars, where we will be singing, telling stories, and learning about the ANZAC!
