St. Vincent (real name Annie Clark) will release her “most unfiltered” album yet this April, recruiting friends including Foo FightersDave Grohl and Josh Freese for the new LP.

All Born Screaming is her seventh album and will be released via Virgin Music Group on Friday, 26 April. The album follows her 2021 release, Daddy’s Home.

To accompany the album announcement, St. Vincent has heralded her industrial rock era with perhaps her most unhinged, uncomfortable music video to date. Broken Man is the first single from the album, and the music video finds St. Vincent performing a dramatic one-woman show amidst unsettling electronic instrumentation. You can check out the clip below.

All Born Screaming is the first self-produced St. Vincent album. She explained the new album's direction in a press release:

There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone—to find out what your heart is really saying. It sounds real because it is real.

For her new full-length, St. Vincent has enlisted some friends, including Dave Grohl, Josh Freese, singer-songwriter and keyboardist Rachel Eckroth, drummer Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon (who features on the title track), producer and musician Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Poppy, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore), Warpaint’s Stella Mozgowa and composer and multi-instrumentalist David Ralicke (Beck, M83, Lucinda Williams).

The Music’s Guido Farnell described Daddy’s Home as “compelling” in an album review. Farnell continued, “Whilst not as bold or as brash as Masseduction, St. Vincent deals an accomplished album where her songs fit together as a cohesive whole, making for compelling listening right through to the very end.”
