UPDATE: Splendour In The Grass has revealed who will replace Lewis Capaldi.

Ocean Alley will replace Lewis Capaldi on this year's Splendour In The Grass line-up, organisers revealed this afternoon. The announcement arrived after the Scottish singer cancelled all remaining tour dates for the year earlier this week.

One of hip-hop’s most luminary artists, Danny Brown, has also joined the 2023 Splendour In The Grass line-up in an exclusive Australian performance. Brisbane star Thelma Plum has also been added to the line-up, with the pair replacing Slowthai and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.

In addition to the new names on the line-up, Splendour has unveiled the set times and maps for the event taking place on Friday, 21, Saturday, 22 and Sunday, 23 July. Set times and maps are available on the Splendour In The Grass website and available to download on Android and iPhones. You can plan your weekend here.

Danny Brown’s addition to the Splendour line-up should act as a victory lap as it follows a recent check-in to rehab, with the star recently seeking treatment for alcohol addiction, saying it's something he "needs to be done with".

“I was drunk and talking shit and that’s why my dumb ass is checking into treatment tomorrow got nothing but love for dart and warp so chill out the album is mastered,” Brown tweeted in late March, dismissing claims that his record label, Warp, was dragging its feet in releasing his Quaranta project.

It wasn’t the first time Brown spoke about his struggle with alcohol. While performing at SXSW Festival earlier this year, he said that "getting drunk" and "smoking blunts all day" was "getting old".

“At the end of the day, I’m 42 years old,” he told the crowd at SXSW that abusing alcohol and drugs had sent him to a "dark place".

"This shit is getting old. I will say, man, I know y’all way younger than me so everybody have y’all fun … [but] shit could get dark. I got into a really dark place with it so now I’m gonna go get help.”

Earlier this year, Thelma Plum won big at the Queensland Music Awards, taking home the title of Song of the Year and Pop Song of the Year for her acclaimed single Backseat Of My Mind.

As reported in May, Slowthai was quietly taken off the bill following charges of sexual assault in the UK. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, on the other hand, were recently forced to cancel their entire year of touring plans due to an unnamed band member being “in a medical crisis”.
