A fantastic music component slated in for next year

More The Jesus & Mary Chain More The Jesus & Mary Chain

Thanks to the brains behind Splendour In The Grass and Secret Sounds, Jess Ducrou and Paul Piticco (both of whom were #3 on our AMID Power 50), the 2016 iteration of the Spectrum Now Festival will feature a full-fledged music element, led by Scottish icons The Jesus And Mary Chain.

The band's Jim and William Reid will be offering an amazing performance of their debut album Psychocandy in full, after having the stage warmed up by electro kings Seekae, Canada's indie outfit Alvvays, the U.S. Girls and Jonathan Boulet.

The festival's music component, presented by The Music, will also host Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tex-Mex veterans Calexico, Perth alt rockers Birds Of Tokyo, Shepparton pop rockers Augie March and plenty of laughs from Julia Zemiro and the RocKwiz Live clan.

The wider Spectrum Now festival will feature a slew of "arts, music stage and talks" activities, all held as individual events within The Domain and each category curated by a cultural ambassador. Archibald-winning whimsical artist Del Kathryn Barton will lead the arts category, while ARIA-winning singer/songwriter Megan Washington leads music, TV/radio host David Campbell leads stage and comedian Charlie Pickering leads talks.

Held from 1-16 March 2016 in Sydney, Spectrum Now will feature a fantastical vintage circus feel and plenty of food and drink offerings, too.
