Not long to go!

More Thando More Thando

Lennon & McCartney. Jagger & Richards. And now Bello Winter Music Festival has just announced a series of Bread & Butter collaborative performances, in which a curated group of artists on the festival bill will do a series of rolling duets.

This year will see soul powerhouse Thando duet with singer songwriter Dan Parsons, Jack White collaborator Lillie Mae join bluegrass band The Morrisons and Zee Gachette of Z-Star Trinity jump up with Melbourne artist Merpire.

The gig is the brainchild of festival programmer Kate Atkinson who says she tries “to make unusual pairings but in some way they are strangely simpatico”.

“Sometimes they choose to cover a well-known song or sometimes they will collaborate on one of their own songs – you really don’t know until they’re on stage.

“The gig is loose, surprising and a whole lot of fun.”

If you’re stressing about a clash on the program, you can also catch artists when beloved Rock Wiz co-host Brian Nankervis is joined for a chat and a sing-a-long On the Couch.

Spinning yarns with Nankervis this year will be Caiti Baker who has toured with Gurrumul and collaborated with A. B. Original, enigmatic old time sing song man Archer and American songwriter David Dondero who National Public Radio in the US listed as one of the top living songwriters in the world.
