The respected European outfit will be recording their next album Down Under

Veteran Spanish party-rock quintet Los Chicos have announced that they will return Down Under next month on a dual-purpose sojourn unlike any to have come before. They're not only utilising the fine creative atmosphere inspired by this great land to record their next album, but they'll be stepping outside the studio for a run of east-coast tour shows while they're in the neighbourhood.

The fun-loving Spaniards will get things started on Thursday, 2 April, at The Espy, in St Kilda, alongside FIREBALLSThe Kave-Inn and Kit Convict & Thee Terrible Two; the next day — Good Friday — they join forces with Mesa CosaThe Pink TilesRichie 1250 & The Brides Of ChristGirl Crazy, and Wet Meal at The Tote, in Collingwood; they then descend upon the Boogie! Festival in Tallarook (4 April) before heading on to HOLA! at Barwon Club, in Geelong, on 5 April (alongside a smorgasbord of aural goodness including Spencer P Jones & The Escape CommitteePowerline SpeakersMidnight Woolf, Mesa Cosa, The Kremlings and many more); then it's a straight shot through Sydney's Newtown Social Club (8 April, supports TBA) and Wollongong Uni Bar (with Los Tones and Pinheads, 9 April) before the tour-ending two-set party at Brunswick's Retreat Hotel on 10 April.

If you're unfamiliar with the revelry-soaked sounds of Los Chicos, know that they are no fledgling concern — active members of the international touring circuit for more than a decade, the band have garnered dedicated followings at home, in the UK, across Europe and, yes, way on 'round the planet down here in Australia. This year's sojourn marks their third visit to the country, so if you've not yet had the pleasure, make this visit the charm.
