Something For Kate hit the road in September!

Aussie alt-rock legends Something For Kate have announced that they're heading off on a massive national tour this year, celebrating two albums from their expansive career as a group.

The trio will be touring their 2020 release The Modern Medieval for the first time ever, as well as commemorating 20 years since the release of their seminal LP Echolalia.

‘We’ve been unable to tour The Modern Medieval since its release last year and along with Echolalia turning 20 this year, we wanted to find a way to celebrate both albums so we decided to play two sets a night. We’ll be our own support band!" Something For Kate said.

"One set will feature Echolalia in full and the other set will be made up of songs from The Modern Medieval plus a mix of other favourites. This will be a rare and unique Something for Kate tour. We can’t wait for these very special shows."

The band's initial tour plans of 2020 were put on hold owing to the pandemic and resulting nationwide lockdowns. However, Dempsey told The Music last year that delaying the album itself was never going to happen.

"It seems like music is still like a really welcome, positive thing," Dempsey stated. "So it feels good to be putting it out there.”

Along with the tour, Echolalia will be receiving an extra special vinyl reissue. The album, featuring SFK hits such as Monsters and Three Dimensions, will feature never before seen photos and artwork, including images of the original hand-written lyrics from Dempsey himself.

Tickets for the Modern Medieval x Echolalia tour will be available for general sale from Monday, 26 July. For full touring details, check out theGuide.
