So Frenchy So Chic Announces 2016 Details & Early Bird Special

Annual francophile convention So Frenchy, So Chic In The Park has announced its return in 2016, once again headed to Melbourne's Werribee Park — its fifth year at the venue — and Sydney's St John's College (its third) for a day of Gaulish gluttony of the best kind in January next year.

To help get the excitement flowing before the calendar year even thinks about ticking over, the organisers have unveiled four acts destined for both events to bring their distinctly worldly tunes to Australian shores in 2016, such as Moroccan-born chanteuse Hindi Zahra — who has been described as "a North-African Patti Smith" and garnered more than a handful of comparisons to the great Billie Holiday — as well as lounge-pop/retro-folk duo Brigitte (individually, Aurelie Saada and Sylvie Hoarau), actor/model-turned-singer-songwriter Lou Doillon, and the rambunctious Bolshoi gypsy beats/hip hop/electro fusion collective Soviet Suprem.

Music is not all that will be on offer, though, with So Frenchy, So Chic In The Park planning to keep your mouths and bellies full with a spread of delicious treats, from pre-orderable picnic boxes (featuring crusty baguettes, salad jardiniere, petit four chocolate ganache tarts and more) and cheese plates to an all-out banquet of seafood, crepes, macaroons, ice cream and other goodies, naturally washed down with a healthy dose of Laurent Perrier Champagne (or French beer, Provence rose, Bordeaux wines and special cocktails — sold).

Also with pricking up your ears for is the event's early-bird special, which is on now through till Monday 28 September, and nets you some pretty serious discounts if you're quick — you can knock off $20-$30 from the price you'd pay if you wait for standard release or, slacker still, to pick a pass up at the door.
