In news that will delight Smashing Pumpkins fans, the legendary rock group is bringing its The World Is A Vampire Festival to Australia for the first time this April.

The 1979 group will take the festival across ten national cities and boasts a line-up featuring Jane's Addiction and Aussie heroes Amyl And The Sniffers, RedHook, Battlesnake and local acts to be added to each show.

Each festival date will also feature professional wrestling matches between vocalist Billy Corgan's NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and the WAOA (Wrestling Alliance Of Australia).

From the haunting Disarm from their breakthrough album, 1993’s Siamese Dream, to the majesty of Tonight, Tonight and the savagery of Bullet With Butterfly Wings from the ten times platinum monster, 1995’s Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness - which was the best-selling double album of the ’90s - through to the bands most recent releases 2018’s Shiny and Oh So Bright and 2021’s Cyr which featured the singles, Solara, The Colour Of Love and Wyttch, the Smashing Pumpkins have been a mainstay in the rock world for over three decades. This year, the band will release their most ambitious work to date, Atum: A Rock Opera In Three Acts.

Jane's Addiction are known for their first two albums, Nothing's Shocking (1988) and 1990’s Ritual de lo Habitual, which were released to widespread critical acclaim and gave the world classics like Mountain Song, Been Caught Stealing and Stop!

Melbourne’s Amyl And The Sniffers won the ARIA award for Best Rock Album in 2019 for their self-titled debut and again in 2022 for their second release, Comfort To Me, plus gained the Best Group win in the same year. The punk rockers have toured relentlessly and gained a well-earned reputation for their high-octane, in-your-face live shows.

Sydney’s RedHook have been on fire since their inception in 2018. Featuring the fierce vocalist Emmy Mack, the group create experimental, heartfelt and attitude-filled alternative music that fuses multiple genres, including rock, rap, metalcore and electronica.

While now based in Sydney, seven-piece Battlesnake were forged deep in the fiery pits of the underworld. Their chugging riffs, soaring harmonies, virtuosic soloing and wailing vocals tell tales of wizards, dragons and kings of old. With their explosive live energy, Battlesnake leave a trail of sonic devastation in their wake.

Wrestling talents include NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille, NWA World Tag Team Champions Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf, NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Kerry Morton, Natalia Markova, Thom Latimer, Mercurio, Missa Kate and more.

The One World pre-sale begins tomorrow (Thursday, 2 February) at 9 am and ends at 11 am Friday. The first release of general public tickets go on sale at 12 pm this Friday, 3 February. Find tickets here.
