Destroy All Lines have announced the inaugural Homegrown festival – a new event celebrating the “sounds of Victoria” – co-headlined by Slowly Slowly and Kisschasy.

Joining them on the lineup are Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, WAAX, Void Of Vision, TOOSLOW, ENOLA and Hassall, as well as Emo Never Sleeps DJs.

The daylong event will go down at PICA in Melbourne (Naarm) on Saturday March 16; tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday (February 9), with a presale kicking off at the same time a day earlier (February 8) – head here for more info.

It comes as Kisschasy’s first show to follow their 2023 reunion tour, which followed a stellar run at the prior year’s Good Things festival. In an interview with TheMusic.com.au, frontman Darren Cordeaux reflected on the experience: “It didn't matter where I looked, I was singing the deep cuts, and they were singing along to every song. It was really remarkable and made me feel very grateful for people sticking by us and it gave me an appreciation for what we created and the fact that it has managed to stand some kind of test of time, which is cool.”

Meanwhile, Slowly Slowly are still touring in support of their 2022 album Daisy Chain. In a behind-the-scenes look at the album, frontman Ben Stewart said of his vision for the album’s art: “Race Car Blues was really kind of dark and cluttered in its art, which fitted at the time, with lots of blue mannequins overlaying and stuff like that, and really abstract. For Daisy Chain, I just wanted something almost typography-based... We said that we wanted it to be fresh and clean with a splash of colour...”
