Amyl & The Sniffers fans were treated to a surprise collaboration earlier this week with the release of Sleaford Mods' new track and it turns out it came about because the UK duo are also big supporters of the Melbourne band.

Sleaford Mods' Nudge It - which features on their new album, Spare Ribs, out today - features Amyl & The Sniffers vocalist Amy Taylor, complete with a music video that sees the singer venturing through the streets of Melbourne.

“We were fans of Amyl & The Sniffers," Sleaford Mods' Jason Williamson told The Music.

"I especially liked the way Amy used lyrics in an explosive way to describe the pain of it all. That really stuck with me and we figured it’d work in a Sleaford record.

"We were over the moon with the results. It's really pushed the idea of what we do.”

The release comes after Amyl & The Sniffers won Best Band and Best Live Act at the Music Victoria Awards, while Taylor also picked up the award for Best Musician.
