More Sex Pistols More Sex Pistols

Following news last week that Johnny Rotten-condemned Sex Pistols series Pistol would premiere via Disney+ on May 31, its first trailer has today been revealed.

The new offering from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 127 Hours) features Aussie actor Toby Wallace as guitarist Steve Jones alongside Anson Boon as John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon, Louis Partridge as Sid Vicious, Jacob Slater as drummer Paul Cook and Fabien Frankel as original bassist Glen Matlock.

Fans also get a better look at Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams as UK punk icon Jordan, aka Pamela Rooke, who sadly passed away earlier this week, aged 66.

When the series was confirmed last year, Lydon was quick to unleash.

“I think that’s the most disrespectful shit I’ve ever had to endure," he said.

"I mean, they went to the point to hire an actor to play me but what’s the actor working on? Certainly not my character. It can’t go anywhere else [but court]."

Then, last August, it was revealed that Lydonhad lost the right to block usage of the bands' songs in the miniseries, after being sued by Jones and Cook.

All six episodes of Pistol will drop at once.
