"What a terrific time to be taking the helm!”

After announcing the departure of Eskimo Joe’s Stu MacLeod last month, RTRFM has named Karen Lee the WA radio station’s new General Manager.

An advocate for artists’ rights and local culture, Lee has previously worked in touring and events, arts and community projects, and business management

“We’re living in such a dynamic and invigorating time for audio content makers, story-tellers, and music selectors,” Lee said.

“I’m determined to make sure that RTRFM and all the people who give the station its unique identity and quality can capitalise on the many opportunities available.

“With the right strategy, innovation, and partners, all our rich and varied local action can reach global audiences and be part of a vibrant international exchange of stories, sounds, and ideas.  What a terrific time to be taking the helm!”

Lee will commence her new role at the station in 2019, with MacLeod moving on to work with Fairbridge Festival.
