Bail has been lowered, but it’s not low enough for the frontman.

More As I Lay Dying More As I Lay Dying

As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis has faced court again, as a packed courtroom – groups of wannabe spectators were reportedly turned away, the room was so full – watched the singer at a bail hearing in a San Diego court.

According to a report from U-T San Diego, the court heard that Lambesis' plot to have his wife killed came as a result of 'roid rage' suffered by the frontman as he attempted to wean himself off bodybuilding drugs he was using prior to the incident. His obsession with bodybuilding and the drugs that came with it have also been blamed for Lambesis losing his faith in recent times.

“His thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use,” Lambesis' lawyer Thomas Warwick said.

Warwick, had hoped to have the accused's bail dropped from $3 million to $250,000, but Judge David Berry was only willing to lower it to $2 million. It is an amount of money too large for Lambesis to source and, as such, he will stay behind bars.

Prosecutor Claudia Grasso said that Lambesis had been “very willing” to pay $20,000 to have his estranged wife Meggan Lambesis killed. He was arrested after handing an undercover police officer $1,000 cash, photos of Ms Lambesis, security codes and dates that the killing could take place in Oceanside, San Diego, on Tuesday 7 May, 2013.

Lambesis is set to face court again later this month.
