Rita Ora Will Headline The Invictus Games Closing Ceremony

Anywhere singer and The Voice Australia judge Rita Ora will headline the closing ceremony of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games on Saturday, 16 September.

“Exciting News Alert! Get ready to be mesmerized as the incredible Rita Ora takes the stage at the #InvictusGames 2023 Düsseldorf Closing Ceremony,” a tweet from the Invictus Games account reads. “Mark your calendars and join us in counting down the days to this unforgettable performance!”

Ora added in a statement, per Music News, “I am incredibly proud to be part of the Closing Ceremony of the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf.

“I am so excited to be performing in front of this very unique audience. The Invictus Games is a very special sports event, and the competitors are an inspiration in perseverance and will for all of us.”

Ora will headline the closing ceremony at the Merkur Spiel Arena. The sixth edition of Prince Harry’s tournament was launched in honour of injured and wounded military members; it’s the first time that the Invictus Games have been held in Germany.

Last month, Rita Ora released her third album, You And I, which was led by three singles: You Only Love Me, Praising You, and Don’t Think Twice. Last week, she dropped the music video for the title track, which stars her husband, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. You can watch the video below.

Described as “her most personal record yet,” in a Rolling Stone album review, Ora co-wrote every track on her latest album. Reviewer Ilana Kaplan added, “There are plenty of cathartic dance-floor bangers, but beneath the beat drops and brassy choruses, Ora confesses her struggles with self-worth, her fear of abandonment and the anxiety she grapples with while getting close to someone new.”

Rita Ora is a judge on The Voice Australia alongside Australian Idol alum Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, and the new judge, Jason Derulo.

Last year’s winner, 24-year-old Victorian P.E. teacher Lachie Gill was on Ora’s team and took home the prize money of $100,000.
