“I think Palace is the perfect song to reacquaint ourselves with listeners after the 2 year gap between original releases. Life just seemed to imitate art with a lot of the songs we’ve been working on but this one in particular sets the tone perfectly for what we have planned for the rest of the year.”

More Reside More Reside

Reside have returned with new music for the first time in 2 years with their latest single 'Palace'. The Melbourne alternative rock band have enlisted the vocal power of Bloom's Jono Hawkey on this eclectic new single that has been teased at live shows over the last 12 months.

The ‘Palace’ described in Reside’s latest single is not only a physical space serving as a layer of protection from the violence and evils of the outside world, but is also a metaphysical escape our consciousness creates in times of stress or anxiety. Reside explore the detriments of overstaying in the idyllic safe space.

Vocalist Liam Guinane told Kill Your Stereo:

“I think Palace is the perfect song to reacquaint ourselves with listeners after the 2-year gap between original releases. Life just seemed to imitate art with a lot of the songs we’ve been working on but this one, in particular, sets the tone perfectly for what we have planned for the rest of the year.”

"I felt it was important to get Jono for the ending. It's such a claustrophobic moment and I knew he was able to sound like an absolute monster. I wanted someone who had a comparable vocal tone to myself with how much the song explores an internal struggle but I wanted it to also be clear to the listener that it wasn't me, that it was someone like me pulling me out."
