The energetic Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea, is premiering the first part of his new podcast, This Little Light, on 30 March.

As Rolling Stone reports, the podcast will be a 15-part series featuring a revolving door of the most recognisable names in music, including Rick Rubin, Cynthia Erivo, Thundercat, Patti Smith, and Margo Price.

The goal of This Little Light is to shine the spotlight on teachers and early musical experiences - the exploration of influences and early lessons - and how they influenced the trajectory of his guests' careers.

This Little Light was inspired by the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, the not-for-profit music school Flea founded in 2001. Flea is donating some proceeds from the podcast to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, with money going towards the school's operating costs and scholarship program.

"I wanted to do This Little Light to benefit my music school, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music," the bassist revealed in a statement. "The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music and embarking on a musical journey for your life. Everybody’s path is so different, and it’s fascinating to learn how every musician came to music and developed their study of it over time."

In The Music's live review of Red Hot Chili Peppers at Suncorp Stadium a few weeks ago, we said about Flea, "Far from a one-trick pony, Flea also pulls out some of the most energetic dance moves and handstands you could hope to see on any stage without ever missing a bass note."

Last month, Flea put his dreamy Congo, NSW holiday home up for auction.

The Californication musician has owned the property in the New South Wales coastal town of Congo since 1992.

Flea designed the property in partnership with architect Malcom Cheadle. Sporting 2946 sqm (approx. half an acre) of land, the house is stunning - inside and out.

Featuring Jarrah timber flooring, five bedrooms and three bathrooms, pavilions, a double garage, a multi-purpose sports court, multiple dining areas, fireplaces, curled stairs, and many splashes of colour, the home is beautiful and will surely sell. And, in a design choice that won't surprise fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Roof Exterior is designed to represent a cuttlefish.
