The US edition of Record Store Day has announced its enormous Black Friday (24 November) sale, with hundreds of albums hitting the Record Store Day website before they land on Walmart shelves the following day.

While the Australian website hasn’t been updated since May this year – a month after the 2023 Record Store Day – Melbourne store Happy Valley has ordered titles ahead of time, with the promise to update buyers on the number of albums in store, the prices attached, and other information.

There’s a strict limit of one copy of a record per customer, with no holds or phone orders available.

For the Black Friday Vinyl Exclusives, Happy Valley has already ordered a translucent orange Escape From New York 2LP by Best Coast, De La Soul’s 3 Feet High & Rising in a 7” boxset, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots – Live At The Paradise Lounge, Boston (27 Oct 2022) by The Flaming Lips, pressed on pink vinyl; INXSShabooh Shoobah Rarities on gold 140g vinyl, and many more.

Elsewhere, Happy Valley has locked in Noah Kahan’s Cape Elizabeth EP on colour marbled vinyl, Lil Wayne’s I Am Music pressed on translucent ruby 2LP vinyl, NasI Am… The Autobiography on 150g 2LP vinyl, Linkin Park’s Lost Demos (from the Meteora 20th Anniversary Edition) on deluxe/translucent sea blue vinyl, Joni Mitchell’s Court & Spark Demos, Kim PetrasProblématique on apple red vinyl, Prince & The New Power Generation’s Gett Off 12” (one-sided), Rilo Kiley’s Under The Blacklight on translucent grape vinyl, and more.

Any remaining Black Friday Record Store Day Exclusives collections stock will be available on the Happy Valley/other RSD partner websites from Saturday, 25 November.
