Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has narrowly avoided injury after being tackled off the stage in Toronto.

The near-miss took place when a fan rushed the stage during Rage Against The Machine's rendition of Killing In The Name in Toronto on Saturday.

In some fan footage, you can view below, Morello is tackled by security in the confusion, resulting in him being bumped from the stage. Thankfully, Morello appears to escape unscathed, returning to play the remainder of the show.

In the footage above you can also see that vocalist Zack de la Rocha did his best to restore order, coming to the aid of his guitarist by yelling "Hold up! Hold up! Hold up!", stopping the show.

Once Morello resumes his position on stage he offers a quizzical "What just happened?" and de la Rocha tells the audience not to rush the stage. "Do not try that shit. I'm sorry. We're cool. We love y'all, but don't do that!"

The band are currently on tour with Run The Jewels on the ‘Public Service Announcement Tour’. The tour will see Rage Against The Machine play in 51 shows in 40 cities across 12 countries.

It's not the first time that the tour has made the news, with Rage Against The Machine making no secret of their opposition to the US supreme court's decision to overturn ‘Roe v. Wade’, displaying messages of support for reproductive rights on a giant digital screen at shows on the tour.

As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the messages read “Forced birth in a country that is the only wealthy country in the world without any guaranteed paid parental leave at the national level.”

“Forced birth in a country where Black birth-givers experience maternal mortality two to three times higher than that of white birth-givers.”

“Forced birth in a country where gun violence is the number one cause of death among children and teenagers.” “Abort the Supreme Court.”

You can watch a video of the pro-choice messaging taken at the July 9th show in Wisconsin, where abortion is currently illegal,  below.
