Quite possibly the best thing for Aussie prog

More Caligula's Horse More Caligula's Horse

Melbourne's premier progressive rock festival, the aptly named Progfest, is back for another year this December.

Starting in late 2008, Progfest has since been up and down the east coast in different cities and venues but is returning to Melbourne's Corner Hotel this 3 December. Rapidly making a name for itself, the event will celebrate all things prog, from rock to art to metal with everything in-between.

The acts include prog rockers Caligula's Horse, who embarked on a world tour last year after their latest album Bloom, Alithia and We Lost The Sea, who use crushing guitars and atmospherics to create music filled with tension and release, will both join the extravaganza.

Also on the bill are heavy progressive acts such as the experimental Orsome Welles, who have supported the likes of Seether and Twelve Foot Ninja, and Transience, who put their own spin on progressive rock and metal, their debut release hailed as one of the best progressive albums of 2015.
